Job Summary

The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) Ontario is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead the strategic direction of the Your Health Space (YHS) program. As the Director of YHS, you will provide senior leadership in strategic planning, operational oversight, stakeholder partnerships, program growth and scalability, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program and Operational Leadership
    • Develop and execute a strategic vision for the YHS program, including designing and planning its positioning within the healthcare sector.
    • Build and maintain positive relationships with government funders, stakeholders, and partners.
    • Lead the core relationship with the Ministry of Health and provincial partners, providing high-level consulting and supporting regular reporting and funding submissions.
    • Foster relationships across the CMHA branch network to raise awareness and inclusivity about the program.
  • People and Team Leadership
    • Provide directional people leadership to YHS management and employees, including supervision, coaching, performance management, and talent management.
    • Participate in the recruitment, selection, and talent management of employees, helping to manage vacancies and new positions.
  • Skill-Based Competencies
    • Strategic Leadership: Establish and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders, translate the vision and mission, and inspire others to deliver.
    • People, Program, and Operational Leadership: Proven ability to lead and manage employees, collaborate with stakeholders, manage budgets, and solve problems.
    • Analytical Skills: Effectively gather, synthesize, and respond to issues, using analysis and creative thinking to find solutions.
Requirements

The successful candidate will have a Master's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent education and experience. Strong understanding of workplace mental health, psychological health and safety, and mental health and addiction is required. Fluency in French is an asset.
