Maintenance Planner Job Description

Westlake is seeking a skilled Maintenance Planner to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing plant.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement daily work schedules to ensure adequate resources are available to complete maintenance activities.
  • Audit assignments and resources to ensure repair schedules and performance expectations are met.
  • Maintain accurate records of plant equipment in our CMMS system.
  • Support and implement initiatives from the Westlake Reliability Team as needed.
  • Process and manage purchase requisitions for parts and services needed to support maintenance activities.
  • Manage maintenance spare parts inventory and records in CMMS.
  • Coordinate upcoming project needs and plans with the Maintenance Superintendent.
  • Order parts necessary to complete jobs and expedite parts if necessary to meet priority.
  • Plan all maintenance activities to be completed during scheduled production downtime.
  • Communicate maintenance work schedules to operations and maintenance supervision.
  • Arrange and coordinate outside resources/services as needed.
  • Provide input to management and suggest improvements for efficiency.
  • Evaluate and analyze equipment history and predictive maintenance data to anticipate plant maintenance needs.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma required; Associates degree in a technical field preferred.
  • 2 years' experience in production and/or manufacturing.
  • 2 years' experience in planning and scheduling.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Proficiency with Windows-based software, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong communication skills in a corporate environment.
  • Ability to operate well in a team environment.
  • Experience with inventory management and labor/material planning.
  • Ability to recognize opportunities for process improvement.
  • Experience with CMMS software preferred.
  • General understanding of repair parts, electrical, and mechanical equipment preferred.
