About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Career Development Specialist to join our team at SEMO de Granby et région. As a Career Development Specialist, you will play a vital role in helping clients achieve their career goals and overcome employment barriers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Assessment and Support
    • Conduct in-depth interviews with clients to understand their employment history, educational background, and career aspirations.
    • Assess clients' problems and develop personalized plans to address their employment challenges.
  • Labour Market Information and Job Search Strategies
    • Provide clients with accurate and up-to-date labour market information, including job openings, entry requirements, and skill demands.
    • Help clients develop effective job search strategies, including resume writing and interview preparation.
  • Vocational Testing and Assessment
    • Administer and interpret vocational tests to determine clients' interests, aptitudes, and abilities.
    • Use test results to identify career paths and job opportunities that align with clients' strengths and interests.
  • Community Partnerships and Referrals
    • Liaise with community agencies and partners to identify additional services and resources that can support clients' employment goals.
    • Provide referrals to clients who require specialized services or support.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • A Master's degree in a relevant field, such as career counselling or a related field.
    • Experience in career development, employment counselling, or a related field is an asset.
  • Skills and Competencies
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work effectively with diverse client populations.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficiency in MS Outlook and MS Word.
