About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Pops Taphouse & Grill / Pops Pub South Ltd. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Planning and Execution
    • Develop and implement menus that meet the needs of our customers and align with our company's culinary vision.
    • Source high-quality ingredients and manage inventory to ensure efficient food preparation and presentation.
  • Culinary Leadership
    • Supervise and train a team of cooks and kitchen staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to deliver exceptional food quality and service.
    • Collaborate with other department heads to ensure seamless execution of events and promotions.
  • Food Safety and Quality Control
    • Ensure that all food preparation and presentation meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and hygiene.
    • Conduct regular quality control checks to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Inventory Management
    • Manage inventory levels to minimize waste and ensure efficient use of resources.
    • Develop and implement strategies to reduce food costs and improve profitability.
  • Team Management
    • Lead and motivate a team of cooks and kitchen staff to achieve exceptional results.
    • Provide coaching, feedback, and development opportunities to help team members grow and succeed.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Excellent culinary skills and knowledge of food preparation, presentation, and safety.
    • Strong leadership and communication skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
    • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends.
