Job Title: Halfway House Worker

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Halfway House Worker to join our team at The Governing Council of The Salvation Army. As a key member of our residential program, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals in their journey towards rehabilitation and reintegration into society.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a safe and supportive environment for clients living in our halfway house. This will involve supervising daily activities, providing guidance and mentorship, and promoting a culture of respect and inclusivity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and support clients in their daily activities, including meal preparation, household chores, and personal care.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to clients, helping them to set and achieve goals, and develop life skills.
  • Monitor and report any concerns or issues related to client behavior or well-being.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a cohesive and effective team approach.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
  • College diploma or equivalent in a related field (e.g. social work, counseling, or a related field).
  • Experience working in a residential or correctional setting, preferably with individuals with complex needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to client-centered care.
  • Enhanced reliability security clearance.
