Senior Estimator

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join our team at TalentSphere Staffing Solutions. As a Senior Estimator, you will play a key role in leading estimates on complex projects, working closely with our clients and internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead estimates on multi-project or single large and complex projects for residential, commercial, office, and hospitality buildings.
- Interact with and support chief estimator, pre-construction director, project directors, project managers, and coordinators.
- Work closely with external stakeholders, including clients, consultants, and trade contractors, and internal stakeholders, such as development staff.
- Present estimates to senior management and external clients.
- Take the lead on creating and delivering estimate packages for complex projects.
- Provide expert guidance to junior estimators and project managers.
- Perform complex quantity takeoffs to company and industry standards and supervise the work of others.
- Solicit sub-trade and supplier pricing quotes and administer sub-trade databases.
- Assist in the preparation of drawing reviews, including coordinating RFI's from sub-trades to consultants.
- Take ownership of the estimate with only minor supervision, preparing direct and indirect costs.
- Be actively aware of current market rates for building materials and labor, and provide input to the team on all construction cost matters.
- Incorporate requirements from drawings and specifications into estimates and assess potential risk items.
- Review and develop construction schedules and ensure alignment with estimates.
- Review construction methodology and ensure alignment with estimates.
- Review and analyze quotes, providing data to support trade selection.
- Lead value engineering processes.
- Have a strong computer background, including experience with MS Office, On-Screen Takeoff, and Bluebeam.
- Be able to think creatively and critically about problems, and generate new and innovative ideas for improvement.
- 7+ years of estimating experience, including residential and commercial market experience.
- General contractor and/or trade contractor experience is preferred.
- College diploma or university degree in construction management, civil engineering, or quantity surveying.
- Experience in both concrete and wood frame construction is preferred but not necessary.
- Have a network of business relationships with trade contractors in the local Vancouver area.
- Be able to conduct multi-tasking in an organized fashion.
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Have a proactive attitude and a strong desire to take on new challenges and responsibilities.
- $120,000 - $150,000+ base pay.
