ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team withDilawriGroup of Companies The successful candidate is someone who is passionate about the automotive industry and eager to contribute to our growingteam.

Key Responsibilities:

- Full cycle accounting including month end and year end close processes, journal entries, invoicing, bank and general ledger reconciliations

- Month end financial statement preparation and analysis for multiple automotive dealerships

- Accounts receivable and accounts payable oversight and review

- Balance sheet schedule maintenance

- Prepare third party quarterly and year end reporting

- Responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of financial information

- Support and assist clerks with daily tasks and duties

- GST and PST filing preparation

- Prepare manufacturer financial statements

- Liaise with dealership department managers

- Understanding of internal controls and their importance

- Expense and inventory analysis

- Assist with year end financial statement audit requests

- Process and review payroll

- Ensure all standard accounting policies, procedures and controls are consistently and accurately applied

ABOUT YOU:

- Minimum 3 years work experience in an accounting role

- University degree in Business/Accounting is an asset

- Canadian professional accounting designation (Chartered Professional Accountant) or working towards a Canadian designation is considered an asset but not required

- Experience in the automotive industry and familiarity with CDK is considered an asset

- Advanced knowledge of MS Office and Excel

- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of accounting policies and procedures

- Excellent level of communication and relationship building skills to develop strong working partnerships with team members and management

- Strong organizational, time management and prioritizing skills

- Ability to be efficient and effective while working independently and within a team

- Able to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines
