Warehouse Director

The Warehouse Director is responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight of all warehouse functions, including receiving, storage, inventory control, order fulfillment, and distribution. This role ensures operational excellence, cost efficiency, and compliance with safety and quality standards while supporting business growth and customer satisfaction.
The Director will develop scalable warehouse strategies, optimize systems and processes, and lead high-performing teams to support company goals.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

- Oversee daily warehouse operations across one or multiple facilities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company standards.

- Implement best practices in warehouse management, inventory control, material handling, and order fulfillment.

- Monitor KPIs and operational metrics to evaluate performance, identify issues, and implement corrective actions.

- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.

Inventory & Logistics Management

- Ensure accurate inventory levels and maintain control systems to prevent loss or shrinkage.

- Collaborate with Procurement and Supply Chain teams to forecast material needs.

- Oversee logistics, distribution, and shipping processes to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.

- Manage relationships with transportation providers and 3PL partners.

People & Team Management

- Lead, mentor, and develop warehouse managers, supervisors, and staff.

- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence.

- Conduct training programs to ensure compliance with SOPs and regulatory requirements.

- Ensure adequate staffing and scheduling to meet operational needs.

Strategic Planning & Compliance

- Develop long-term warehouse operations strategies aligned with company growth objectives.

- Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and other safety and regulatory standards.

- Manage budgets, control operating costs, and deliver on financial performance targets.

- Oversee the implementation and optimization of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and automation technologies.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field (required).

- 10+ years of progressive warehouse management experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

- Experience managing large-scale distribution/warehouse facilities; multi-site leadership preferred.

- Proven expertise in logistics, supply chain management, and process optimization.

- Experience with ERP/WMS systems and inventory management best practices. – Strongly preferred

- Strong leadership and organizational skills.

- Expertise in logistics, supply chain, and inventory optimization.

- Ability to collaborate across departments (Engineering, Procurement, Field Operations).

- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

- Knowledge of OSHA and DOT regulations.
