Housing Support Team Lead - Full Time
Position Description: Working as part of the interdisciplinary team and reporting to the Program Supervisor, the Housing Support Team Lead will implement housing stability strategies and oversee the housing support program. This role involves supervising and supporting housing program staff and volunteers, collaborating with Indwell’s leadership to uphold our mission, vision, and values. Hours of Work: 40 hours/week. The program operates 7 days a week, including public holidays. Flexibility for evening and weekend hours is required, along with participation in a 24/7 on-call schedule rotation to respond to urgent needs. Program schedules may vary depending on demand.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support to Residents: Demonstrate understanding of psychosocial rehabilitation, recovery models, harm reduction strategies, and crisis de-escalation. Facilitate case management, develop support plans, respond to concerns with compassion, and reinforce life skills. Assist with intake and orientation, and develop group programming.
- Team Support and Leadership: Supervise and support the Housing Support team, conduct regular check-ins, participate in recruitment, oversee onboarding, and support the implementation of assessment tools and policies. Foster positive team dynamics, participate in team and agency meetings, and maintain relationships with community partners. Lead case conferences, manage disputes, and coordinate property maintenance and tenant move-ins.
- Leadership and Development: Promote spirituality in line with organizational values, engage in self-reflection, support diversity and inclusion, and lead teams to achieve shared goals. Stay informed on best practices and emerging trends in housing stability.
- Health, Safety, and Administration: Maintain a safe work environment, respond to emergencies, complete documentation accurately, and ensure proper record keeping, including rent and occupancy data. Follow organizational policies.
Qualifications:
- Commitment to organizational values and standards
- Experience in mental health/addictions, case management, or interdisciplinary teams is beneficial
- Post-secondary education or equivalent experience; lived experience is valued
- Strong communication, crisis management, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently in high-stress environments, with organizational and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of local resources and trauma-informed practices
