About the Opportunity
Our client, a leading and rapidly growing diagnostic and interventional medical organization in Alberta, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join their specialized Interventional Pain Management team. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside one of the top pain management specialists in the country within a collaborative, research‑driven, and patient‑centered environment. The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled, hands‑on NP who thrives in a fast‑paced clinical setting and is passionate about innovation in interventional care.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the Director of Interventional Pain Management to support complex procedures and multidisciplinary treatment planning.
- Assist with specialized pain and spine interventions (e.g., joint injections, vertebral augmentation, intradiscal therapies).
- Manage patient preparation, monitoring, and recovery for procedures.
- Provide education, discharge planning, and continuity of care.
- Conduct independent assessments, order diagnostics, prescribe medications, and make procedural recommendations.
- Support ongoing clinical studies, including patient recruitment and data collection.
- Collaborate with research and physician teams on study design and reporting.
- Contribute to publications and conference presentations.
- Mentor junior clinical staff and trainees.
- Contribute to the development of clinical protocols and quality improvements.
- Represent the organization in professional and academic settings.
- Assist in managing procedural scheduling, optimizing workflow, and maintaining smooth day‑to‑day operations.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Nursing with Nurse Practitioner designation (CARNA required)
- ACLS and BLS certifications (mandatory)
- 3–5+ years of advanced practice experience (pain management, anesthesiology, ICU, orthopedics, or surgical background preferred)
- Prescriptive authority and diagnostic ordering ability
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
- Passion for patient care and continuous professional growth
