CATHARINES HOURS OF WORK: 75 HOURS PER PAY PERIOD POSTING DATE: 24 NOVEMBER 2025 CLOSING DATE: 07 DECEMBER 2025 UNION: THE PROFESSIONAL INSTITUTE OF THE PUBLIC SERVICE OF CANADA WAGE RANGE: $40.620 TO $55.650 PER HOUR Position Objective The Radiation Therapy Department at the Walker Family Cancer Centre (WFCC) is an expanding program that provides state‑of‑the‑art treatment planning, simulation, and external beam radiation. Our centre has 3 Linear Accelerators and a CT simulator. The radiation therapist works within a multi‑disciplinary department team consisting of Radiation Oncologists, Medical Physicists, Oncology Nursing, Booking Clerks, Secretaries, and Personal Support Workers who collaboratively provide comprehensive patient‑centred support to create the best patient experience per the values of Niagara Health. The duties and responsibilities of the Radiation Therapist include administering radiation treatment according to a radiation oncologist’s orders for the delivery of radiation planning and treatment, adherence to the College of Medical Radiation Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) Standards of Practice, documentation of technical and patient related treatment information, integrating reflection, critical thinking, education, and relevant practical experience in problem‑solving. The therapist will participate in department quality initiatives including disease site teams (DST’s) working groups and committees as well as other duties and activities as assigned. The radiation therapist will rotate through a weekend on‑call schedule. Qualifications - Graduate of an accredited Medical Radiation Technology Program in Radiation Therapy - Current registration with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario in Radiation Therapy MRT(T) - Current CMRITO membership - Current BCLS certification with ongoing re‑certification mandatory - Radiation Therapist experience of at least 3 years is an asset - Excellent technical, communication, organizational, patient assessment, and critical analysis skills - Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills - Demonstrated adaptability, flexibility, compassion, initiative when dealing with patients/families - Strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize workload - Applies NH values and professional practice standards to patient/client care and service - Knowledge of computer systems and general office software - Proficiency in both official languages (English and French) will be considered an asset - Consistent and regular attendance required Contact Questions, quoting the job posting number may be directed to hrrecruit@niagarahealth.on.ca Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Statement At Niagara Health, we value diversity, equity and inclusion, and welcome applications from all people.
