As we continue to grow, we are looking for a meticulous and proactiveSenior Accountant to oversee the integrity and execution of all accounting operations across our portfolio.
Position Overview
Reporting to senior leadership, the Senior Accountant will manage full-cycle accounting and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting for both internal operations and client trust accounts. This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform full-cycle accounting for select accounts
- Review and approve monthly bank reconciliations in a timely manner
- Prepare and file corporate and GST returns for clients
- Ensure timely and accurate deposits and allocation of payments across all trust accounts
- Monitor and ensure timely completion of ASP chargebacks
- Review monthly and year-end financial statements and make necessary adjustments
- Oversee CAM reconciliations for commercial properties and review proposed property budgets
- Ensure accurate post-AGM adjustments and new project onboarding
- Respond to and follow up on accounting-related inquiries from strata council members
- Maintain organized and accurate accounting records and documentation
- Support additional accounting functions as required
Qualifications
- CPA designation required
- At least 5 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally in property or strata management
- Strong knowledge of trust accounting, corporate tax, and regulatory compliance
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Proven ability to review complex financial data and identify discrepancies
- Strong communication skills and client service orientation
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
