- We are seeking a Lead Industrial Designer to join our dynamic team in Montreal. This individual will drive our design vision forward, leading projects from concept to production while mentoring junior designers and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

What you will be doing:

- Lead the development and execution of industrial design projects, ensuring high-quality, innovative, and manufacturable solutions.
- Capture, document, and manage client design needs, aligning projects with business strategies and goals while managing stakeholder expectations.
- Establish strong relationships with clients, engineering teams, and manufacturing partners to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Conduct in-depth research and analysis on market trends, user needs, and emerging technologies to inform design decisions.
- Stay updated on the latest design trends, materials, and manufacturing processes through continuous learning and networking.
- Define and develop core design methodologies and best practices for the team, with an emphasis on sustainable and user-centered design principles.
- Lead the development of Ocemida's design strategy, ensuring we remain at the forefront of industrial design innovation.
- Provide design guidance to ensure alignment with project goals, resolve design challenges, and advise on synergies between Ocemida projects.
- Develop training programs and materials to support the growth and skill development of the design team.

What we need from you:

- Excellent knowledge and advanced skills in 3D modeling software (e.g., SolidWorks, Rhino, Fusion 360) and visualization tools (e.g., KeyShot, V-Ray).
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in industrial design, with a proven track record of bringing products to market.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and design for manufacturing principles.
- Proficiency in creating detailed technical drawings and specifications for production.
- Experience with user-centered design methodologies and design thinking approaches.
- Strong ability to conceptualize and sketch ideas quickly and effectively.
- Collaboration skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
- Drive to push the boundaries of design and innovation within Ocemida and the industry.
- Ability to mentor and guide junior designers, fostering a culture of creativity and excellence.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and client needs.
- Excellent presentation skills to effectively communicate design concepts to stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high-quality standards.
