Production Technologist

Your Role
The Production Technologist role is a member of the operations team and will perform a variety of mechanical and administrative duties. The role will primarily perform electrical and mechanical assembly of company's products.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assemble and wire sub-assemblies.
- Submit engineering change request as required.
- Assemble products, including light mechanical and soldering.
- Complete required administrative duties.
- Label and properly handle nonconforming products.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives.
- Assist in material kitting and inventory control
- Work with Site Leader and Supervisor to document and maintain Standardized Work.
- Work closely with the Supervisor to implement solutions to operational issues: e.g., health and safety, quality, and productivity.
Additional Responsibilities
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures and organize work areas for efficiency and safety.
- Provides status reports to management as required.
- Respond to change productively and handle other duties as required
Education & Experience:
- Two-year technical degree (preferred)
- 3+ years of electro-mechanical assembly-related experience.
- Lean or Lean Six Sigma training and experience with deployment of projects would be considered an asset
Knowledge and Skills:
- Ability to read and understand mechanical, flow, and electrical wiring diagrams.
- Ability to operate electric and mechanical hand tools.
- Computer literacy and good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Proficiency with Soldering/de-soldering
- Experience with Tube bending from 1/8 to 1/2” tubing.
General Knowledge & Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
