Applications are invited from teachers with BC Certification for the following teaching position: Fort Rupert Elementary School, Port Hardy, BC 0.20 FTE Temporary - Grade K/1 (Wednesday) Commencing: ASAP to June 30, 2026 or return of the incumbent, whichever comes first The successful candidate will have the following qualifications: primary teaching experience; strong classroom management skills; the ability and energy to work with multi-age groups and meet the needs of students with a range of learning styles and abilities using a variety of teaching strategies; strong focus on math, and ability to incorporate place-based learning and First Peoples' Indigenous Worldviews and Perspectives within math planning; strong interpersonal, communication, and collaborative skills to communicate with students, staff, and parents in a team oriented approach to teaching and learning; strong formative assessment practices; ability to communicate student learning through the use of digital portfolio assessment and three way conferencing; experience with RTI (Response to Intervention) systems; ability to integrate technology to enhance student learning; strong interest in innovation and inquiry; and ability to embed local Indigenous culture and ways of knowing into teaching practices. The starting annual salary for a full-time School Teacher position ranges from $64,368 to $112,637, with placement in the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.
