Hear ye, hear ye Winter is approaching And we have weekend work available Are you looking for seasonal work this winter? Do you enjoy being responsible for the safety of our roads? Are you interested in working weekends? The Township of Champlain requires a Winter Patrol and Equipment Operator to work split shifts on weekends from November to end of March or beginning of April: Hours of Work: Saturday and Sunday: 2 AM to 6 AM and four (4) hour afternoon shifts at times as agreed to with the employer. Some additional hours might be required from time to time Salary: $29.13 per hour Position Summary You would be responsible for patrolling roads on weekends on behalf of the municipality and documenting the condition of roads and sidewalks to ensure the safety of citizens in inclement weather. General Duties and Responsibilities:1. Patrol Township roads to identify conditions that require attention from our Public Works department, such as snow, ice, weather conditions, burnt-out streetlights, potholes, etc.2. Record observations made during patrols.3. Submit observations to the supervisor.4. Dispatch snowplough drivers as needed.5. Drive vehicles such as pickup trucks, wheel loaders, and various other motorized equipment (large and small).
