Reports to: Executive Director of Kerith Retreats
Location: Nestleton, ON
Salary range: $44,000 - $49,920 + $12,000 housing benefit per annum for each person. Compensation package includes on-site housing and full benefits

Opportunity

Kerith Retreats ministry team plans and coordinates Focus Canada’s Christian retreat ministry. Staff within this team support the delivery of multi-day retreat sessions that focus on the renewal and refreshment of Christian ministry couples or singles. We are seeking a fun, goal-oriented couple with servant hearts to warmly relate to individuals and guests as the Facilities and Hospitality Manager Couple at our retreat center in Ontario.

Role and Focus

The Facilities and Hospitality Manager Couple will reside in the on-site residence and oversee care of the facility, rounds keeping, administrative duties such as volunteer host management, and oversight of food services and housekeeping, along with upkeep of the lodge and suites and lower level of the residence. Some work may be accomplished through recruiting, supervising, and encouraging teams of volunteers. They will reside on property; fair market value for rent and utilities will be added to remuneration as a taxable benefit.

Key Responsibilities — Facilities Manager

- Overseeing all Kerith Waters facilities and property, including general repairs and upkeep of buildings and equipment to meet a 5-star standard

- Assemble and execute a maintenance schedule

- Attend to building maintenance, safety procedures and grounds keeping (e.g., lawn care, weed control, snow removal)

- Operate small machinery (ATV, tractor with snow blower, snow machine for trails, chainsaw)

- Develop a sustainable volunteer team for annual/semi-annual workdays for trails, grounds, and lodge/basement suites upkeep

- Coordinate volunteer teams and casual staff; manage contractors for specialized repairs

- Support food services and supply shopping as needed

- Fill in as host couple as needed

- Primary on-site contact for vendors, couriers, tradespeople

Key Responsibilities — Hospitality Manager

- Plan and prepare meals, including make-ahead dishes and accommodations for dietary needs

- Source all food supplies for all events, with assistance from Facilities Manager

- Maintain up-to-date inventory for all food and kitchen supplies

- Develop and manage a sustainable volunteer host team for Kerith Waters events and facility

- Recruit, train, and support volunteer hosts for retreats and events

- Support other staff, contractors and volunteers to ensure facilities are ready for all retreats, intensives, and Focus events

- Assist with pre-retreat administrative needs for staff/therapist (e.g., print name tags, prepare booklets for guests)

- Oversee housekeeping operations and assist with cleaning as needed

- Submit monthly expense reports

- Fill in as host couple as needed

What You Bring

- Experience in building maintenance, groundskeeping, and volunteer coordination

- Comfort with tools and machinery (lawnmowers, chainsaws, ATVs)

- Strong organizational and communication skills

- A servant-hearted attitude and ability to work independently

- Basic computer skills; knowledge of Microsoft Office and NetSuite is an asset

- Valid First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain)
