Summary:

The Payroll specialist works as part of a team to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time by managing the entire payroll process.

Responsibilities:

- Coordinates and process payroll in a timely manner ensuring the integrity of payroll data
- Ensure all pay groups are validated before final submission for processing
- Escalate potential service issues to the Payroll Manager
- Managing payroll garnishments, ensuring deductions are computed properly, and completing processing accurately
- Performing reconciliation of group insurance benefits
- Serve as a point of contact for employees and Managers, addressing questions and resolving issues related to their pay.
- Complete statistical reports, statements and summaries related to pay and benefits accounts and submit them to appropriate departments
- Assist in the preparation of year end processing related reporting
- Supporting internal and external audits
- Provide assistance and payroll information to unionized and non-unionized employees
- Act as a temporary replacement during vacation time
- Analyze payroll problems and provide appropriate resolutions.
- Awareness of legislation and payroll procedure relating to international countries: UK, CAN and US

Qualifications:

- Minimum 7 years of experience in a similar position (full payroll cycle)
- Member of the Canadian Payroll Association/Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation
- Experience with Canada and US payroll processing is a must. Europe payroll and benefits is a definite plus
- Knowledge of UKG would be an asset
- Knowledge of Ceridian HRIS Dayforce is mandatory
- Excellent knowledge of rules and regulations regarding North America payroll standards
- Fluently bilingual in English and French, both written and spoken would be an asset as this role must communicate with out of province stakeholders.
- Ability to multi-task & simultaneously manage a high volume of demanding projects.
- Conduct audits, reconcile discrepancies, and ensure payroll accounts are balanced.
- Working knowledge of MS Office, Outlook, Excel
- Highly discreet when dealing with sensitive employee payroll matters
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
- Ability to work independently in a time sensitive environment
- Reliable, organized, adapt quickly to change, and deliver under the pressure of tight deadlines

Le spécialiste de la paie travaillera en équipe pour s'assurer que les employés soient payés correctement et à temps en gérant l'ensemble du processus de paie.

Responsabilités

- Coordonner et traiter la paie en temps opportun, en assurant l’intégrité des données de paie
- S’assurer que tous les groupes de paie sont validés avant la soumission finale pour traitement
- Signaler tout problème potentiel de service au gestionnaire de la paie
- Gérer les saisies sur salaire, s’assurer que les déductions sont correctement calculées et que le traitement est effectué avec précision
- Effectuer la réconciliation des avantages sociaux
- Servir de point de contact pour les employés et les gestionnaires, répondre aux questions et résoudre les problèmes liés à la paie
- Compléter les rapports statistiques, les relevés et les résumés liés aux comptes de paie et d’avantages sociaux et les soumettre aux départements concernés
- Aider à la préparation des rapports de fin d’année
- Soutenir les audits internes et externes
- Fournir de l’assistance et des informations sur la paie aux employés syndiqués et non syndiqués
- Agir comme remplaçant temporaire pendant les périodes de vacances
- Analyser les problèmes liés à la paie et proposer des solutions appropriées
- Connaissance des lois et procédures de paie internationales : Royaume-Uni, Canada et États-Unis

Qualifications:

- Minimum de 7 ans d’expérience dans un poste similaire (cycle complet de paie)
- Membre de l’Association canadienne de la paie / Détenteur du titre de Praticien en conformité de la paie (PCP)
- Expérience en traitement de la paie au Canada et aux États-Unis requise. Une expérience en paie et avantages sociaux en Europe est un atout
- Connaissance de UKG serait un atout
- Connaissance obligatoire du SIRH Ceridian Dayforce
- Excellente connaissance des règles et réglementations relatives aux normes de paie en Amérique du Nord
- Bilinguisme (anglais et français) parlé et écrit serait un atout car le/la titulaire de ce poste doit communiquer avec des intervenants de l'extérieur de la province.
- Capacité à gérer plusieurs tâches et projets exigeants simultanément
- Capacité à effectuer des audits, à résoudre les écarts et à équilibrer les comptes de paie
- Maîtrise de MS Office, Outlook, Excel
- Grande discrétion dans le traitement des questions sensibles liées à la paie des employés
- Capacité à travailler en équipe
- Capacité à travailler de manière autonome dans un environnement avec des délais serrés
- Fiable, organisé, capable de s’adapter rapidement au changement et de livrer sous pression
- À l’aise avec les mises en œuvre en raison de nombreuses acquisitions
