Posting Summary

Rutgers seeks a Program Coordinator I to serve as an academic advisor for the Department of Kinesiology and Health, reporting to the Senior Program Administrator. The position involves advising over 1,400 declared/undecided majors and minors in Exercise Science and Sport Management on course selection and registration processes.

Responsibilities

- Accomplish day‑to‑day advising tasks and support undergraduate academic programs.

- Create more efficient and productive processes for students, faculty, and staff.

- Develop new programs and resources focused on student learning and support students in attaining their educational and career goals and maintain relationships with other academic departments within the School of Arts and Sciences and the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences.

Qualifications – Minimum Education and Experience

- Bachelor’s degree and two years of relevant experience in a program coordination or administrative function or the equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of academic advising, workshop design and presentation.

Preferred Qualifications

- Digital and social media capabilities and working experience.

- Prior knowledge and working experience with graduate programs and/or in higher education.

- Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, WebEx/Skype/FaceTime/Video familiarity, Joomla, CourseAtlas, Requisitioning Process and Responsibilities in RU Marketplace/SciQuest, Salesforce, Concur Expense Management.

None required.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

- Some inter‑campus travel to classes and facilities, generally an administrative operations position.

- Ability to work occasional evenings and/or weekends required.

Salary Details

Grade 04 – Minimum $59,893.48 – Mid Range $73,909.48 – Maximum $87,925.48.
