Mechanical Supervisor – Mechanical Maintenance

Role Overview

This Mechanical Supervisor position is part of the Mechanical Maintenance department and reports to the Maintenance Superintendent of the Atholville Mill. With a growth mindset the incumbent will ensure optimal reliability of plant and machinery by way of effective and lasting predictive, preventive and repair maintenance solutions.

Responsibilities

- Lead preventive and repair maintenance activities to promote safe, efficient and reliable operation of designated areas.

- Plan, execute, supervise and monitor daily work for a crew of ten skilled tradesmen.

- Contribute to planning of annual Mill shutdowns and area shutdowns. Execute repair activities for crew and associated outside contractors, as required.

- Lead regular crew safety meetings and other Mill learning events (ie. operational, environmental or quality system procedures).

- Ensure compliance with applicable OH&S legislation, ISO 140001 and AV Group NB Inc. policies, procedures, & guidelines.

- Participate in Business Excellence and Mill improvement projects.

- Ensure compliance with the Collective Agreement.

Qualifications

- Education & training related to mechanical maintenance with experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.

- Supervisory experience considered an asset.

- Well established organization and communication skills.

- Proficient in MS Office.

- High level of motivation and able to cope with rapid changes in a dynamic environment.
