Overview On behalf of an award-winning market leader in IoT and big data for the agricultural sector, TEEMA is seeking a Payroll Specialist. As our Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring all payroll transactions are processed accurately and on a biweekly schedule. Using employee time entries, vacation entitlement information and other inputs, you will administer the payroll cycle and provide pay-related information to employees. You will also administer our benefits plans and help manage workers' compensation claims in both Canada and the US. What you will do - Process bi-weekly payroll for all Canadian and US employees. - Generate and update timely Excel payroll registers for review and approval. - Gather and enter new employee data into Ceridian, benefits portal, and time entry system. - Process terminations and ROEs and respond to final pay processing requests, mindful of different rules and timelines for different jurisdictions. - Process weekly meal-penalty reports, review and communicate discrepancies in time cards with Field Service managers. - Review and adjust timesheets per supervisor requests. - Import timesheet records to Ceridian for USA payroll. - Key in time sheet records to Ceridian for Canada payroll. - Add secondary payments for commissions, expenses, and bonuses as needed. - Upload 401(k) and RRSP contributions in the benefits portal. - Add 401(k) and RRSP employer matching contributions in Ceridian for employees as per company policy. - Generate monthly Health Benefits and Reports for coding. - Be the point of contact for setup and changes to employee benefit enrollment and contact our providers as needed. - Complete unemployment, earnings verification and disability requests as needed. - Manage employee information changes in Ceridian (address, withholding, etc.). - Provide payroll information for company requests (Washington, California, BC). We want you to succeed, so you will need - 3+ years of payroll processing experience in Canada or the USA. - Experience working within bi-weekly payroll submission deadlines. - Experience with data entry across various systems including benefits, time entry and payroll systems. - Experience with Ceridian Canada and US (Powerpay, Redwood). - Experience preparing payroll-related accounting entries for accounting systems. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel). - Experience with benefits administration. Nice to have - Experience with T-Sheets, Synerion or other time-keeping software. - Familiarity with processing workers’ compensation claims. - Experience with US jurisdictions.
