Support Substitutes 2025-2026 School Year – Receptionist and Learning Commons Facilitator at Rocky View Schools (RVS).

The Opportunity

RVS invites applications for the on-call, casual position of Support Substitute (Receptionist/Learning Commons Facilitator) for the 2025-2026 school year. Support substitutes are called to work on an as-needed basis, at any of our schools.

You must be available to work throughout the 2025-2026 school year, be accessible by telephone and internet, and provide your own transportation. Interviews will be held in person or via Zoom on an as-needed basis.

Successful candidates will possess

- Positive references

- Outstanding interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills

- Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills

- Ability to keep up-to-date with changing technology

- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as cooperatively with a team of educational professionals

- Understanding of and commitment to supporting learning initiatives

- Ability to work with other staff members to create a positive, safe, and optimal learning environment

- Capacity to establish a rapport with students

Education/Experience

Receptionist

- High school diploma

- Office administration coursework considered an asset

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and web-based applications

Learning Commons Facilitator

- High school diploma

- Diploma or undergraduate degree in Library Information Technology or related field considered an asset

- Previous office and library experience

Support Substitute Expectations

- There is no minimum day availability required to be a support substitute (Receptionist/Learning Commons Facilitator) with Rocky View Schools

- There is no minimum geographical area required

Pre-employment Requirements

- The successful candidate must submit a current Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check within 30 days of the start of employment

- Proof of qualifications/education as required by the position

- Applicants must provide a professional letter of reference from their most recent supervisor, relevant to the job opportunity, written on company letterhead, signed and dated within the past 18 months
