CFO

Due to a retirement er are looking for an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) or Director of Finance to join our clients team in Orleans, Ontario. This role requires a strong leader with expertise in financial management, strategic planning, and operational oversight. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to drive organizational success by implementing best practices, managing diverse teams, and ensuring compliance with financial and administrative standards.Responsibilities:- Develop and implement strategic financial plans in collaboration with executive management to achieve corporate goals.- Oversee and provide leadership to HR, administrative staff, and accounting teams, ensuring efficient operations and strong team performance.- Review contracts for financial compliance, providing detailed feedback and coordinating with legal experts when necessary.- Manage relationships with third-party IT service providers and offer technical support for software applications, including Microsoft tools and accounting systems.- Act as a global administrator for Microsoft platforms, handling identity management, security, licensing, and communication tools.- Maintain and process security clearances for employees in compliance with government regulations.- Supervise financial operations across multiple entities, including reviewing payables, payroll, financial statements, and tax returns for inactive corporations.- Coordinate updates to corporate minute books and oversee documentation for holding companies.- Prepare and sign prequalification proposals and tender bonds, collaborating with estimators for technical inputs.- Lead safety, training, and certification initiatives to ensure compliance and enhance organizational standards.- Extensive experience in financial management, including budgeting, reporting, and accounting within a complex organizational structure.- Proficiency in accounting software systems and Microsoft applications, such as Excel, Power BI, and Teams.- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire diverse teams.- Familiarity with contract review processes and financial compliance requirements.- Knowledge of IT systems and the ability to oversee technical operations and software support.- Experience in corporate tax preparation and managing full bookkeeping books for a sub-company. - Excellent proposal writing and tender submission skills, including the ability to collaborate on technical aspects.- Strong understanding of safety, training, and certification processes in a corporate setting.10+ years experience in construction and/or contracting is required. Knowledge of Sage 100 (Timberline) in highly beneficial. Canadian CPA is required along with the ability to obtain a secret security clearance which requires 10 years residence in Canada and be ITAR compliant.
