Process Technician

Eurofins CDMO Alphora is looking for Process Technicians to join our dynamic and growing team

Job Description

The role requires a team player with a mature and responsible attitude capable of working safely and with close attention to detail. The role requires good documentation, organizational, and communication skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while adhering to cGMP guidelines. The ideal candidate is proficient in written and verbal communications, possesses sound decision-making, time management and interpersonal skills, and has an affinity for following structured process and documentation practices within a regulated environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Execute chemical processing operations following batch record instructions to ensure the successful completion of batches.

- Work in accordance with Environmental, Health and Safety Procedures, Standard Operating Procedures, Production Batch Records, Good Documentation Practices, and Good Manufacturing Practices.

- Accurate and contemporaneous batch sheet entries

- Second-person verification as required by production batch records.

- Work closely under supervision with the more experienced members of the team (e.g. Level II/III Process Technicians, Senior Process Technicians and Team Leaders) to complete daily tasks as assigned by the Team Leader on time and with “right the first time” approach.

- Cleaning of process equipment and facilities.

- Set-up and insertion of process equipment

- Execute routine unit operations under supervision such as:

- Filtrations

- Phase separations

- Refluxing operations

- Atmospheric distillations

- Reduced pressure distillations

- Safe handling of all chemicals including process waste.

Qualifications

- College Diploma or Degree preferred but not mandatory

- Proficient written and verbal English communication skills

- Willingness to learn

- Capable of following detailed instructions

- Capable of multi-tasking

- Capable of sound decision-making

- Good interpersonal skills

- Good Documentation Practices (GDP)

- Working knowledge of cGMP principles preferred but not mandatory

- Experience in a chemical manufacturing facility being a definite asset

- Experience handling hazardous chemicals being a definite asset

- Experience working with API or formulation pharmaceutical processing equipment, or related experience in food, cosmetics or specialty chemicals being a definite asset

- Experience working with computerized chemical processing equipment being a definite asset

- Experience with shift work preferred but not mandatory: 8 hour – 24/5 and/or 12 hour – 24/7 (Continental shift schedule)
