Electrician

Foran Mining Corporation (TSX:FOM) is a forward-thinking mining company redefining the industry. We are seeking a Electrician to join our growing McIlvenna Bay team. This is a full-time position based at the McIlvenna Bay site working either a 7/7 or 14/14 rotation.

The McIlvenna Bay Cu-Zn-Au-Ag deposit is one of the largest undeveloped VHMS deposits in Canada. Foran recently announced (2024) approval by the Board of Directors for the project to proceed to the formal construction phase with initial production expected in Q4 2025. The McIlvenna Bay deposit’s core commodities are critical for the global transition to green energy and Foran aims to extract these critical minerals in a sustainable manner by empowering local communities, contributing to circular economies and protecting the environment for future generations.

An Electrician will be responsible for the safe execution of electrical maintenance activities, ensuring the safe and efficient functioning of electrical systems and equipment.

Job Responsibilities:

- Diagnose electrical issues and malfunctions, and develop effective solutions to address them promptly, minimizing downtime.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and electrical regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
- Regularly inspect electrical systems, machinery, and equipment to identify potential problems and address them proactively.
- Collaborate with engineering and management teams to plan and execute electrical projects, upgrades, and installations.
- Maintain accurate records of electrical maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs for reference and reporting purposes.
- Keep updated on best practices, new technologies and safety measures.
- Be prepared to respond to electrical emergencies, such as power outages or equipment failures, and implement immediate corrective actions.
- Maintain effective communication with team members, management, and other stakeholders to report progress, discuss challenges, and coordinate activities.

Job Qualifications and Skills:

- Possess Journeyperson Electrical certification.
- 1-3 years of experience working in the mining industry or a similar heavy industry environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, machinery, and equipment commonly used in the mining industry.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical safety regulations, best practices, and safety protocols to create a safe work environment.
- Proficient in identifying and resolving electrical issues and malfunctions and making informed decisions on problem-solving strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members, management, and other departments effectively.
- Analytical mindset and problem-solving capabilities to address complex electrical challenges and develop effective solutions.
- Flexibility to handle dynamic situations and changing priorities in a fast-paced mining environment.
- Knowledge of mining-specific electrical regulations and compliance with local, regional, and national electrical codes.

Compensation and Benefits:

- For UG Bonus Competitive Hourly Rate Range: $47.46 + $6.07/hr - $47.46 + $14.81/hr which includes a target-based monthly bonus
- For Surface Bonus Competitive Hourly Rate: $47.46/hr with an additional 10% annual bonus
