Role Summary

An IT system administrator is responsible for providing technical support and maintaining the company’s computer systems and networks. This position requires knowledge of operating systems, hardware, software, and networking.

Major Areas of Responsibility

- Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, and peripherals.

- Monitor and maintain the company’s computer systems and networks.

- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to hardware, software, and networking.

- Ensure security and data backup systems are functioning correctly.

- Set up user accounts, permissions, and passwords.

- Perform system upgrades and updates.

- Provide technical support to users.

- Keep up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.

- Strong knowledge of operating systems, including Windows and Linux.

- Familiarity with network protocols and services, such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, FTP, HTTP, SMTP, etc.

- Experience with system administration tools, such as Active Directory, Exchange, and VMware.

- Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery solutions.

- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work well in a team environment.

Nice to Have

- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, and Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA).

- Working knowledge of snowflake is an asset

- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure.

- Experience with scripting languages, such as PowerShell or Python.
