Full-Time Position: 37.5 hours per week
The Agency is currently seeking a compassionate, skilled and professional individual to support children and families with enhancing family resilience. Family Mentors are responsible for providing In-home support to families with children up to the age of six and those with prenatal needs. They work collaboratively with families to set goals for their children’s health and wellbeing while utilizing a strength-based approach to build caregiver capacity. Family Mentors build strong trusting relationships and provide support in meeting basic needs, problem solving, providing relevant information and referrals, assisting families with increasing their knowledge about child development, positive parenting strategies, bolstering self-advocacy skills and strengthening parent-child relationships.

Qualifications
- Minimum of a Post Secondary Diploma in a relevant Human Services field.
- Registration, licensing and/or certification as required by relevant Professional Bodies.
- Three (3) years direct experience working with diverse families and children in their homes.
Knowledge and Skills
- Solid knowledge of child development and family dynamics.
- Knowledge in maternal and infant health and prevention of child abuse and neglect.
- Grounded in trauma informed and strength-based practice
- The ability to speak an additional language is an asset.
- Strong networking skills and the demonstrated ability to be a respectful and collaborative team member.
- Excellent communication, computer, and organization skills
Other
- Valid Police Information and Vulnerable Sector Check and Alberta Children’s Services Intervention Check.
- Willing to work a flexible schedule, which will include daytime, evening, and Saturday hours.
- Access to a reliable vehicle and 2 million liability insurance
