NAC is currently seeking a Construction Contracts & Claims Analyst to join our Risk Management department at our Head Office location in Morriston, ON.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Risk & Legal Manager, the Construction Contracts & Claims Analyst will be responsible for providing support and assistance to the contracts, claims & risk aspects of the projects. From reviewing contract terms, processing claims and change requests, and ensuring internal contract documents are accurate and well maintained

Job Description

- Assist with the programs, systems and services of the insurance requirements for the organization

- Utilize established processes and procedures to ensure compliance with contract requirements

- Assist in identifying and mitigating potential contractual, financial and/or performance risks

- Interact with various internal and external stakeholders with respect to contractual matters, issues, claims etc., including: Procurement services, Legal Counsels, external claims, consultants and contractors

- Assist and support the project teams with documenting, evaluating and processing change requests

- Assist and support with the processing of contractor claims, construction delay and impact claims

- Conduct research, create reports and present findings based on projects and operational requirements

- Review contract documents to understand scope of work and contractual obligations

- Other departmental projects and initiatives as required

Requirements

- Degree/diploma in a Construction related education program and/or an equivalent combination of technical training & experience.

- Experience working on a construction project and understanding of a typical construction project’s phases, processes, and documentation

- Proficient in contract drawing and specification interpretation

- Understanding contract terms & conditions, insurance policies, and insurance claims management would be an asset

- Proficient in Microsoft office suite.

- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal

- Work effectively independently, with minimal supervision
