This facility is home to 220 Continuing Care beds and 60 Designated Assisted Living Beds.**Reporting to: Director of Care****RESPONSIBILITIES:**Reporting to the Director of Care, the HCA will:* Provide personal assistance and support services for residents* Provide essential and important daily living support and comfort to residents including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting and all other ADL’s.* Communicate resident care needs, observations and concerns to professional staff.* Involved in the orientation and mentorship of new HCA staff and students* Interact with residents/families and other team members regarding any care needs* Work collaboratively within the interdisciplinary team* Health Care Aide Certification or subsequent equivalency required (LPN students who have completed first year, BScN students who have completed second year)* Experience working within a long-term care setting an asset* Strong organization, time management and communication skills* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within the team* Strong communication skills --- ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English**Time Type:**Part timeWhen you choose to build your career with Extendicare, you’re joining a team dedicated to making a difference.
