Overview

MPE is seeking a detail-oriented intermediate civil 3D drafting technologist to join our water resources team in Lethbridge, Alberta. The successful candidate will prepare technical drawings, calculate earthworks quantities, develop design surfaces, process surveys, and develop Civil templates using Autodesk Civil 3D and other Autodesk software.

The candidate may work on projects such as earthen embankment dams, concrete water control structures and spillways, canals, pump stations, and other water control infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare detailed civil engineering drawings using Autodesk Civil 3D
- Generate and modify surfaces, alignments, corridors, pipe networks, and grading plans
- Collaborate with engineers, technologists, and project managers to implement design solutions
- Ensure drawings comply with applicable codes and standards

Qualifications

- Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Technology or a related discipline
- 2 years direct experience with AutoCAD & Civil 3D
- Experience with Microsoft Office programs
- Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license
- Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment

Additional assets

- Experience with GIS, InfraWorks, Inventor, or Revit
- CET designation or eligibility for registration with ASET
