Job ID: 84312

Location: Vancouver, British Columbia – Hybrid

Overview

This role requires a leader in product management to drive significant new capabilities in the unified communications platform. The Group Product Manager (GPM) assumes business ownership of specific business or technical areas of the product line. The GPM develops a strong technical understanding of their area and engages closely with Product Directors to understand the market and identify how to add value in alignment with the overall product strategy. The Group Product Manager will work closely with peers to define stand‑alone and cross‑cutting features and capabilities for their product area. GPMs may also directly manage Technical Program Managers working on major components within their area.

What you will be doing

- Understand the product area and how it fits into the product line, providing business value to core markets

- Work directly with business teams and customers/prospects to understand how the services provide the capabilities required for their success

- Become knowledgeable about the market, competitive solutions, and business opportunities to provide high‑value solutions

- Serve as the primary product expert (functional, not technical) for the product area under your responsibility

- Collaborate with the Strategic Product Manager, Business Development, and other key stakeholders to define and align the roadmap for your service area within the overall strategic roadmap

- Define and prioritize business needs to be addressed and own the associated high‑level business requirements

- Communicate scope requirements using the most suitable format, including themes, initiatives, epics, user stories, workflows, use cases, narratives, and other appropriate methods

- Collaborate effectively with Technical Program/Product Managers, Architects, and Development to break work into small increments that can be released to market

- Communicate the business value of features and solutions in your service area to the business and customers

- Understand the design, business logic, and technical architecture of your area and how those components interact with the rest of the platform

- Coordinate cross‑product dependencies within the Product Management team

- Manage the product lifecycle, including successful product launches and end‑of‑life processes

- Support marketing, sales, and support by leading the development and maintenance of technical marketing collateral

- Manage and mentor direct reports as they define and prioritize requirements, plan and monitor projects, conduct one‑on‑ones and reviews, provide coaching and training, and manage workload appropriately

What you must have

- 3+ years of senior product management experience in a large program for a SaaS or enterprise software company

- 10+ years of product management experience working with microservices or SOA, internal and external API integrations, and third‑party integration

- Experience in communication services, such as telco service integration, WebRTC, or real‑time messaging (desired)

- Ability to effectively interface with customers and stakeholders across the organization

- Experience working with cross‑functional teams, including engineering, sales, and marketing

- Strong requirement elicitation, analysis, workflow design, domain modeling, use case modeling, and documentation skills

- Experience delivering services across desktop and mobile platforms

- Strong collaboration and problem‑solving skills, with excellent verbal and written communication

- Experience working in a Lean/Agile development environment (asset)

- Strong technical background (desired)

Salary/Rate Range: $145,000–$170,000 CAD
