The Role

We are seeking energetic and outstanding individuals with a passion for events, weddings, decor and installations. Key to providing the exemplary service our clients expect, you will be assisting the team with the installation and decoration of events, weddings, seasonal events and decorative installations, both internally and for corporate clients.

Responsibilities:

- Participate in the building, installation and teardown of displays and events, including furniture/decor transport, assembly and removal, as well as creative styling
- Assist with building and delivery of planters, pop-up decor and installation of displays
- Loading and unloading décor, equipment, furniture and florals both at the studio and on site
- Cleaning, organizing and prep of inventory, equipment and tools
- Occasional travel to events outside Edmonton may be required (i.e. Jasper, Calgary, Banff and Toronto)
- Relay all pertinent information/issues accurately to event lead in a timely manner
- Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of the event spaces during set up and tear down
- Adhere to all site/venue procedures and policies

Skills & Qualifications:

- Ability to multi-task & perform well as part of a team under pressure and tight deadlines
- Previous event or merchandising experience is an asset
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule – including weekends, early mornings and late nights. Hiring and scheduling preference will be given to individuals with more flexible availability.
- Comfortable taking direction and interpreting written instructions and diagrams
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent spoken English and communication skills
- Must maintain a professional appearance anda positive attitude under stress
- Always safety-minded
- A reliable vehicle is required, as a single shift may be divided over multiple locations
- Class 5 drivers license and prior experience driving a cargo truck is an asset (but not required)

Physical Demands

- This position requires extended periods of standing, walking, crouching, climbing and carrying heavy loads for extended periods of time
- Should be comfortable on ladders/raised platforms
- Must be able to lift approximately to 50lbs
- Some work may be occasionally performed outside under adverse weather conditions

Job Type:

Full-time / Part-time / Contract / Seasonal – Hours and contract lengths may vary, based on business demands. New opportunities arise throughout the year.

Location:

Our studio is located at 10525 – 111 Street NW in downtown Edmonton.

The nature of this role frequently requires working on-site at secondary locations within Edmonton and surrounding areas. A single shift may take place at multiple locations. Additional opportunities may exist in Banff, Jasper, Calgary, Toronto and beyond.
