Engineer, Mechanical and Piping – Biofuels (from 7 to 15 years of experience)

- Establish and maintain relationships with clients to define their needs
- Lead and participate in project design studies
- Lead and participate in designing plans, details, and specifications
- Perform sizing calculations for pressurized piping equipment
- Supervise and perform design calculations, ensuring plans meet guidelines, code requirements, and regulations
- Prepare material lists and bills of materials according to codes, standards, drawings, and procedures, applying BBA’s quality system
- Present technical information, concepts, or study results
- Verify and produce RFP files, specifications, and technical equipment documents
- Allocate tasks to junior engineers, technicians, and drafters, review their work, and assess project scope
- Ensure work complies with schedules, estimates, procedures, and budgets
- Perform technical information statements
- Occasionally oversee contractors on site

Summary of certifications and job requirements

- University degree in mechanical engineering, member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec
- At least seven years of relevant experience
- Knowledge of codes and standards in the petrochemical industry
- Knowledge of pressure vessel, piping, and API pump design
- Knowledge of metallurgy selection
- Proficiency in MS Office, databases, and interfaces
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Navisworks
- Availability for occasional travel across Canada and abroad
- Bilingual in English and French
- Asset: consulting engineering experience
- Asset: experience in green hydrogen, CO2 capture, or oil, gas, and biofuels
- Asset: experience in solids processing
