Lead Financial Analyst

Location: North Bay, Kapuskasing, or Hearst, ON

Responsibilities

- Promote and provide a safe workplace, seek improvements, support Health & Safety Program.

- Ensure compliance with company and legislated accounting policies, procedures, and guidelines.

- Prepare and review all required financial analyses and sign off on site financial statements.

- Manage accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closes, accounts payables and receivables for all sawmill accounting functions.

- Assist with annual internal and external audits and quarterly reviews by providing supporting documentation and explanations.

- Lead the budget planning process and deliver periodic forecasts for operations.

- Supervise the Accounting position(s).

- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) within the finance team.

- Review and approve monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.

- Coordinate cost-reduction and margin-improvement programs in collaboration with Sawmill General Managers.

- Participate in capital project and repair project approval processes.

- Ensure monthly working papers are updated and reconciled to the general ledger.

- Maintain compliance with all applicable legislation, regulations, company policies, and guidelines

- Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration

- Accounting Certification: CMA, CPA, or CA

- 3+ years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting or related field and preferably within the forestry or manufacturing sector.

- Proven experience leading and supervising financial team members.

- Demonstrated experience using financial reporting and analysis tools.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP and advanced formulas)

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.

- Bilingual: English & French is considered an asset.

Analyste financier principal

Responsabilités

- Promouvoir et fournir un lieu de travail sûr, rechercher des améliorations, soutenir le programme de santé et de sécurité.

- Veiller au respect des politiques, procédures et directives comptables de l’entreprise et prévues par la loi.

- Préparer et examiner toutes les analyses financières requises et approuver les états financiers du site.

- Gérer avec précision et dans les délais les clôtures mensuelles, trimestrielles et annuelles, les comptes fournisseurs et les comptes clients pour toutes les fonctions comptables de la scierie.

- Participer aux audits internes et externes annuels et aux examens trimestriels en fournissant des pièces justificatives et des explications.

- Diriger le processus de planification budgétaire et fournir des prévisions périodiques pour les opérations.

- Superviser le(s) poste(s) de comptabilité.

- Élaborer et surveiller les indicateurs de performance clés (KPI) au sein de l’équipe financière.

- Examiner et approuver les écritures comptables mensuelles et les rapprochements de comptes.

- Coordonner les programmes de réduction des coûts et d’amélioration des marges en collaboration avec les directeurs généraux des scieries.

- Participer aux processus d’approbation des projets d’investissement et de réparation.

- Veiller à ce que les documents de travail mensuels soient mis à jour et rapprochés du grand livre général.

- Veiller au respect de toutes les lois, réglementations, politiques et directives applicables de l’entreprise.

- Autres tâches connexes assignées.

Exigences

- Diplôme universitaire en comptabilité, finance ou administration des affaires

- Certification comptable : CMA, CPA ou CA

- Au moins 3 ans d’expérience dans l’analyse financière, la budgétisation ou un domaine connexe, de préférence dans le secteur forestier ou manufacturier.

- Expérience avérée dans la direction et la supervision de membres d’une équipe financière.

- Expérience avérée dans l’utilisation d’outils de reporting et d’analyse financiers.

- Maîtrise de Microsoft Excel (y compris les tableaux croisés dynamiques, les fonctions RECHERCHEV, XLOOKUP et les formules avancées)

- Solides compétences en matière d’analyse et de résolution de problèmes, avec un sens aigu du détail.

- Bilingue : la maîtrise de l’anglais et du français est considérée comme un atout.
