Techdoz is committed to being a company of the highest quality in every aspect of the business. We are on the search for a Full Time Field Technician, to join our expanded team to maintain our clients full technology needs.

Areas of Focus

Responsibilities

- Perform structured cabling installations, terminations, and troubleshooting.

- Install, test, and maintain network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and access points.

- Conduct site surveys and assessments for new installations or upgrades.

- Provide on-site technical support and issue resolution for clients.

- Work with the internal team to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.

- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including cable maps and project notes.

- Ensure proper use of tools and adherence to safety protocols.

- Other duties as assigned by management.

Technical Scope

- Installation and maintenance of Cat5e, Cat6, and fibre optic cabling.

- Rack and stack network equipment in server rooms and data centres.

- Cable management, including dressing, labeling, and testing.

- Basic configuration and troubleshooting of network devices.

- Adhering to industry standards (TIA/EIA, BICSI) for structured cabling.

Requirements

- Knowledge of structured cabling best practices, including installation, termination, and testing.

- Familiarity with network hardware (switches, routers, access points).

- Ability to use cable testers, punch-down tools, and other industry-standard equipment.

- A+ Certification, Network+, or BICSI Certification is an asset but not required.

- Basic knowledge of Windows environments and networking fundamentals.

- Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize, manage time, and meet deadlines.

- A highly motivated team player with the ability to manage changing priorities.

- Ability to communicate technical guidance and instructions to users and team members.

- Exemplary attendance and punctuality.

- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation.

Security Requirements (As Required)

- Level 2 – Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC)

- RCMP’s Canadian Criminal Real Time Identification Services (CCRTIS) certified criminal record checks

Other Info

- Travel Allowance (mileage / mobile device) provided

- Work may involve lifting equipment and working in confined spaces or elevated locations.
