BASIS: FULL-TIME, PERMANENT | CLOSING DATE: DECEMBER 12, 2025, AT 9:00 AM

The Head Treatment Plant Operator (HTPO) is responsible for operating and maintaining the City’s water and sewer facilities to deliver safe water and treat municipal sewerage. They monitor the operation of lift stations, pumping stations and reservoirs.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate the City’s water and sewer facilities to meet all regulatory standards and the City’s water licence terms and conditions.

- Test and coordinate the tests of water and wastewater.

- Train Treatment Plant Operators.

- Plan and coordinate regular maintenance and cleaning of equipment.

- Prepare monthly reports on the treatment plants, operations and employee & technical records.

Qualifications

- EOCP Level 3 Water Treatment Certificate and/or Class 3 Wastewater Treatment Certificate, or equivalent.

- Considerable knowledge of the standard practices, methods, and equipment utilized in the operation, inspection, and maintenance of a sewage treatment plant.

- Knowledge of testing, sampling and analysis of sewage and water.

This is a CUPE 2262 position offering $43.51 per/hr plus a $0.25 per hour for each EOCP certification attained, plus an excellent benefit package including enrollment in the Municipal Pension Plan.
