Job Summary & Requirements:

The People Development & Retention Coordinator works in collaboration with team members to provide support on the development, organization and delivery of training courses, events, eLearning modules, and related materials to support education initiatives aligning with the organization’s strategic plan. As the central point of contact for assigned People Development and Retention matters, this position provides suggestions and recommendations regarding continuous improvements for training processes and systems to enhance productivity and ROI.

In addition, the People Development Coordinator plays a key role in the execution of the TEAM RVH recognition and retention strategy, working closely with various teams to oversee the planning, development, and execution of employee recognition events.

Salary: $40.21 - $47.05 (NU_06)

Education

- Post-secondary diploma (minimum of 3-year) or University degree in a related field, or comparable experience

- Teaching/Training Adults Certificate an asset

- eLearning Professional Certification an asset

Experience

- Minimum 3 years adult teaching/training experience, employee engagement, recognition, event planning and/or organizational development preferred or comparable experience

- Experience in the development of courses, materials and presenting to adult learners

- Experience in eLearning course design, administration and delivery

- Minimum 3 years’ experience in planning and executing large participants in virtual or in-person training events and events management

- Knowledge of procurement practices an asset

- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software applications

- Experience with new media technologies and technology-assisted learning software applications including, but not limited to learning management systems, on-line survey tools, simulation software (Adobe Captivate) web-based software applications such as databases and internet/intranet

- Experience in a healthcare setting is an asset

- Proficiency working with several teams simultaneously

- Experience in collaborating with outside vendors

- Communication/graphic design skills an asset

- Ability to meet a variety of learning needs, implementing adult learning principles in developing a variety of learning modalities including instructor-led and eLearning education initiatives.

- Ability to teach courses virtual and in-person to adult learners

- Self-directed and able to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

- Proficient project management skills with ability to handle multiple projects

- Possess strong facilitation and presentation skills

- Ability to incorporate research and evidence-based practice into education initiatives

- Proven ability to build professional and productive relationships at all levels within organization

- Strong business, analytical and problem-solving abilities

- Commitment to continuous improvement with a customer service focus

- Proficient written/verbal communication skills

- Handle potential issues that may affect the schedule timeline and implement creative and practical solutions quickly and effectively

- Ability to resolve conflict and handle emotionally charged conversations and group facilitations

- Demonstrated confidentiality and adherence to privacy legislation
