Job Posting 25-149Temporary CHILD AND YOUTH WORKER Location: To be determinedStart Date & End Date: To be determinedSchedule: To be determined We are seeking individuals that hold a Child & Youth Worker (CYW) certificate and are interested in supporting temporary CYW assignments throughout the 2025-26 school year.These special assignments will provide coverage for temporary gaps as they arise. While the timing and duration of these assignments are not predetermined, selected candidates will have the opportunity to step into these roles as needed .If you are passionate about supporting students and would like to be considered for these temporary opportunities, please apply.Provide onsite support to children in the development of strategies for coping with personal, social, emotional, and/or behavioural issues.RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:Respond to emergency or crisis situationsProvide direct assistance with behaviour management including observing, monitoring, and reportingProvide emotional/social and behavioural support to students within classroom and school settings; specifically, students on the School Child and Youth Worker's Priority Caseload Consult and assist school personnel in developing, implementing, modifying, and evaluating social skills, preventative strategies, and behavioural programsLiaise with community agencies in support of specific childrenManage and maintain student records and caseloadAct as a resource person at school team meetings, parent meetings, system resource meetings, and community agency case conferencesUtilize the techniques of Behaviour Management System to safeguard student and staff safety when required Contribute to the development of the Individual Education Plan/Action PlanRecommend resource materialAdditional duties as assignedREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:A Child & Youth Worker diplomaExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsStrong organizational and time management skillsDemonstrated ability to work well as part of a professional teamTraining in Behaviour Management Systems (BMS)A minimum of one-year experience in this or related position involving programming for children with behaviour challengesProven ability to work as part of a professional teamThis position involves travel to schools within the Board, and therefore the successful candidate must have a reliable vehicle and a valid driver's license Member of the Ontario Association of Child and Youth Care (OACYC) is an assetPOSTING DATE: Thursday, November 6th, 2025CLOSING DATE: Wednesday, November 12th,2025 at 4:00 pmSuccessful external candidates will be required to provide an original Criminal Record Check as a condition of employment.
