This position is primarily responsible for the repair and preventative maintenance program for all mechanical systems, building management systems and life safety equipment. A 4th Class Power Engineer's certificate is required and there is opportunity to gain other training and certification.The Technician will participate in a schedule that includes day and evening shifts between (7am-9:30pm) including an on-call rotation. This role is unionized with a 35 hour work week. In addition to the base salary, there is an annual bonus, overtime rate for hours above 35 hours per week and a premium paid for on-call.**WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING*** Daily inspections of the building mechanical and electrical systems and all required maintenance and repairs. This includes lighting/electrical systems, chilled/heating water systems, rooftop equipment, compressors and boilers, as well as HVAC control systems and fire alarm/sprinkler systems;* Monitor and assist contractors in the efficient performance of their contracted duties;* Record mechanical readings at regular intervals;* Maintain preventative maintenance program for all life safety equipment and performing repairs;* Maintain good public relations with tenants;**WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR*** Successful applicants must possess a valid BC or Inter-Provincial 4th Class Power Engineer’s Certificate.* Additional certification, including a Refrigeration or Electrical TQ would be considered an asset;* 3-5 years of practical experience with a strong knowledge of HVAC control systems;* Ability to work with hand tools and at heights;* Ability to meet tight deadlines to resolve building issues in a timely manner;* Resourceful team player with excellent communication skills and ability to manage numerous tasks simultaneously;* Valid BC Driver’s License required.* **Evening and weekend work will be required.****Estimated compensation for this position:**82,400.00 – 82,400.00 CAD per year*This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ.
