Resorts of the Canadian Rockies Inc. is seeking a Lift & Base Area Operations Manager to join our team in a full-time, year-round position. Reporting directly to the Area Manager, the successful candidate will bring a positive attitude, strong attention to detail, and a collaborative leadership style.
In this role, you will oversee the daily operations of all lifts, ensuring they are run safely and efficiently for both guests and staff. You will also be responsible for managing base area operations, maintaining a strong focus on safety, teamwork, and exceptional guest service. Supporting, mentoring, and motivating staff will be an important part of fostering a positive and professional workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities
Ensure a safe, comfortable, and friendly atmosphere for both guests and staff at all locations.
Oversee the safe, efficient, and friendly operation of all lifts and base area snow removal.
Maintain and manage snow removal for station ramps, walkways, fences, lift huts, outside plaza areas, garbage cans, stairs, and locker rooms.
Assist with hiring, scheduling, and managing timesheets for Lift & Base Area Operations staff.
Develop and manage training content and materials for all lift personnel, providing ongoing education and annual refresher training.
Address HR-related matters such as evaluations, appearance standards, directives, and discipline in accordance with RCR systems and policies.
Mentor, coach, and support staff to build and sustain a strong, successful team.
Work closely with the Mountain Operations Manager and Maintenance Manager to improve services, procedures, and record keeping in line with Z-98 regulations.
Investigate and follow up on all lift-related incidents.
Ensure compliance with the RCR handbook, Occupational Health & Safety program, and the Collective Agreement.
Provide operational support for resort events in both summer and winter, including set-up, take-down, and on-the-ground assistance.
Oversee summer staff engaged in grounds maintenance, landscaping, weed control, and event support.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Area Manager.

Qualifications
Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in operations, facilities management, or hospitality leadership.
Proven ability to lead and motivate diverse teams.
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple demands.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Experience with safety standards, compliance, and emergency response procedures.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and adapt to seasonal operational demands
Completion and pass of Lifts 150: Ski Lift Operations Train-the-Trainer course

Conditions
Ability to work flexible shifts with varying hours.
Availability to work holidays, weekends, and evenings.
Commitment to a minimum of 40 hours per week during the ski season.

Compensation and Benefits
Competitive salary: $55,000-62,000 annually
