Position Summary:
**This position is a full time contract position for approximately 14-18 months with the possibility of becoming permanent.**

The Pricing Analyst is a great opportunity for an individual looking to join an innovative organization and enjoy working in a changing and fast-paced work environment. This position will interface between customers, our transportation vendors, and internal operations regarding pricing. In this role, you’ll be responsible for calculating price quotes based on customers’ unique project specifications, ensuring the accuracy of estimates and rates, and assisting customers through booking services.

Essential Functions:

- Deliver informed decisions about the appropriate price points for various transport modes (Air & Sea) based on the analysis of internal, external data and customer needs.
- Serves as liaison between Sales, Clients, and Operations for any questions regarding pricing.
- Identify opportunities for improving pricing and profitability of existing accounts and Analyzes shipment volume and revenue to determine effectiveness and profitability of pricing strategies.
- Follows industry developments and competitor pricing strategies that may affect pricing structures, and provides tactical and strategic responses.
- Negotiate competitive pricing from transportation vendors on individual shipments or lanes as needed.
- Creates and maintain client rates on Cargowise one.
- Solve Auto rating issues together with operations in Cargowise one, when required.
- May provide functional guidance, advice and/or training to less-experienced pricing team members.
- Help distribute RFIs and go over contracts during customer onboarding.
- Assist on rating projects; update contracting rating quotes.
- Respond to clients with shipping quotes in a timely fashion.
- Make sure all tariffs are updated on a daily basis.
- Reach out to current vendors when tariffs expire to update them in advance.
- Audit and update extra charges from vendors and fuel surcharges on a daily basis.
- Report any pricing inconsistencies.
- Use all software available to take advantage of auto rating.
- Analyze and prepare Requests for Proposals (RFP)
- Reviews annual contracts
- Interpret numerical data and provide recommendations and projections on cost, regions, and markets.
- Maintain database with accurate entry of rate changes.
- Monitor special price requests by the sales department.
- Stay apprised of competitor rates and sales trends.
- Identify opportunities to develop sales through pricing strategies.
- Other job duties as assigned.

Education Requirement:

- Post-Secondary studies in Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or related fields
- Minimum of 3 years international transportation industry experience
- Relevant industry certifications considered an asset (i.e. CIFFA, APICS)

- Good command, both verbal and written, English skills.

- Ability to multi-task, plan, prioritize and manage time effectively to meet goals and achieve results.

- Working knowledge of freight brokering and logistics
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines with accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent math skills: able to make quick calculations and assess accuracy of calculations.
- Strong computer skills; quick to learn in-house computer programs.
- An understanding of Fleet Manager or other Transportation software is an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, with the ability to understand, create and amend formulas and spreadsheets.
