Un inspecteur du système d'alarme effectue des inspections annuelles sur le terrain pour toutes les installations de systèmes d'alarme antivol et incendie en examinant et en évaluant l'équipement et en préparant des rapports d'inspection. Examine les résultats de l'inspection et les mesures correctives pour assurer la conformité aux exigences de la liste UL. Effectue des visites lorsque l'inspection annuelle initiale révèle la nécessité de modifications des installations et/ou de mesures correctives. Établit de nouvelles listes pour les systèmes d'alarme antivol et incendie. Effectue le listing et les inspections annuelles des installations de surveillance des stations centrales. Maintient et applique une connaissance pratique de la dernière technologie en matière d’équipement d’alarme.
- Effectue toutes les inspections sur le terrain et les tests de service des systèmes d'alarme antivol et incendie pour déterminer que les entreprises d'installation d'alarme désignées fournissent des certificats et des services conformément à l'UL et aux autres exigences applicables. Transfère les résultats de l’inspection vers les formulaires UL appropriés et prépare des rapports d’inspection détaillés.
- Effectue des inspections annuelles sur le terrain de tous les systèmes d'alarme antivol et incendie pour vérifier que les performances du système, la disposition des dispositifs de surveillance, la continuité des circuits, le câblage des unités de contrôle et d'autres éléments de sécurité sont conformes aux types de systèmes répertoriés sur les certificats. Prépare un rapport sur les conclusions et effectue un suivi pour vérifier que les lacunes sont résolues.
- Maintient et applique ses connaissances actuelles de tous les équipements et normes d'installation applicables en matière d'alarme antivol et d'incendie, du Code national de l'électricité, des codes nationaux de prévention des incendies, des codes du bâtiment applicables, de la dernière technologie d'équipement d'alarme, des pratiques en matière de technologie d'alarme et des politiques et procédures UL.
- Effectue des inspections de liste pour tous les systèmes d'alarme antivol et incendie, en examinant et en évaluant l'équipement pour vérifier que les composants sont compatibles les uns avec les autres et que le système répond aux normes applicables. Prépare les rapports de procédure, la correspondance et les documents associés liés aux nouveaux travaux, aux revisites et aux inspections d'inscription.
- Communique avec les clients pour planifier des rendez-vous, discuter des exigences UL en matière de conformité aux listes, expliquer les résultats des inspections sur le terrain et résoudre les conclusions défavorables des rapports sur le terrain. Fournit des informations aux autorités compétentes et à d’autres organismes externes, selon les besoins. Peut aider à éduquer le public dans les domaines de la sécurité contre le cambriolage et les alarmes incendie.
- Effectue des inspections annuelles de surveillance de la station centrale en examinant et en évaluant les installations pour vérifier que l'équipement, l'alimentation de secours, les techniques d'installation, le service et le bâtiment sont conformes aux normes UL.
