In accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values, and strategic directions of Provincial Health Services Authority patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at PHSA, and as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position. Reporting to the Business Support & Administrative Manager, and in accordance with established policies, standards and procedures, this position performs a variety of clerical duties, such as maintains departmental files and records, receiving and directing patients and visitors, answering phones, taking messages, re-directing calls, completing requisitions and filing

**What you’ll do**
- Maintains departmental files and records.
- Completes laboratory requisition forms as directed by clinic physicians and nurses.
- Enters, searches and retrieves patient information from computer for patients/families, physicians and nursing staff.
- Retrieves patient information from Fax machine and enters into electronic patient record.
- Completes requisitions for stationary and supplies for authorization.
- Addressograph stamps requisitions for physicians.
- Answers telephone inquiries, takes messages, redirects calls.
- Receives and directs patients and visitors. Obtains patient information if required.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

**What you bring**

Qualifications
- Grade 12 and one year’s recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Ability to keyboard at 50 w.p.m.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
