**Job Descripton**

The Radiation Technician works in a laboratory environment and closely with other laboratory staff in support of Institute technical services. This includes, but is not limited to, the Institute’s National Personal Alpha Dosimetry Service, radiation instrument calibration, sealed source leak testing, advanced radiation measurement, radon monitoring, equipment maintenance and repair, and the services of the National Radon Chamber. The Radiation Technician will also provide support for other Institute programs and initiatives as directed.

In the performance of duties, the Radiation Technician routinely works with radioactive sources.

The successful applicant must be detail and quality oriented, efficient and able to work independently with little supervision and meet specified work deadlines.

The Institute will provide laboratory safety, radiation safety and workplace training for the successful applicant.

**Qualifications and Skills**

University degree in physical sciences, or an equivalent level of education and experience.

Experience working with radiation and associated instrumentation is considered an asset.

Intermediate computer skills.

Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Ability to work well with others.

Applicants must provide proof of eligibility to work in Canada.

**Salary**: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
