**Position Summary**

**The **Myrna Daniels Seniors Emergency Medicine Centre** aims to be a world leader in every domain of seniors emergency care through building an innovative physical space, designing a transformative model of clinical care, seamlessly integrating with community partners, and producing leading-edge research and education. Seniors are the fastest growing demographic in Canada and require increasingly complex interventions resulting in an urgent need to develop, test and disseminate novel and sustainable approaches that can better meet the needs of an ageing population.

The Centre is the first of its kind in Canada and aims to address these challenges through generating and translating new knowledge in the field of seniors emergency medicine regionally and internationally. Our goals are to: 1) provide high quality care and deliver exceptional experiences 2) integrate care pathways within and beyond the ED to optimize outcomes 3) Design solutions that cultivate innovation 4) Enable connections to influence system-wide change.

**Duties**
- Collaborate with data analysts, clinicians, administrative leaders to assess, implement and evaluate quality improvement related initiatives
- Lead and/or support concurrent large

- Complete quality audits, observations and chart reviews to identify issues and facilitate changes in practice
- Inform development of a program evaluation logic model
- Co-develop and implement a quality improvement plan that systematically analyzes and improves performance.
- Identify, design and implement QI-related requirements for attaining and maintaining Geriatric Emergency Medicine Accreditation from the American College of Emergency Physicians.
- Design and implement QI tools for use at the point of care.
- Liaise with quality improvement leadership within Emergency Medicine and other UHN partners
- Support programmatic and organizational decision support and ad hoc reporting
- Supervises medical and practicum students
- Assists with development of internal and external communication strategies and materials
- Develop and support a patient engagement plan with older adults who have lived experience seeking emergency care
- Perform administrative responsibilities; perform other duties consistent with the job classification, as required.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum 4-6 years related experience in healthcare related context
- Minimum completion of a Masters in a health administration, health studies, quality improvement or related equivalent
- LEAN certification and/or evaluation experience is an asset.
- Experience with quantitative and/or qualitative research or related field is an asset.
- Proven track record of project work focusing on process and quality improvements with demonstrated success in implementation
- Adept at managing multiple competing priorities and deadlines
- Understanding of hospital operations and processes required to support quality care is preferred
- Strong meeting organization and facilitation skills
- Excellent problem recognition, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Exercise initiative and good judgment with the ability to multitask and prioritize
- Ability to work independently as well as with a team
- Client service oriented, with the ability to effectively work with diversity and appreciate that people with different opinions, backgrounds, and characteristics bring richness to the challenge or situation at hand
