**About GourmetGroceries.ca**

GourmetGroceries.ca was created when the founder, Anna, was looking for a special gift for her cousin's 50th birthday present. As they both adored Canadian-made products and are passionate about buying local, she wanted to get him a specialty food item from every single province.

However, Anna was stumped - sure, there's lots of places that sell local products; but none of them categorized where those came from, and most were mixed with products coming from Europe and the US. Noticing a gap in the market, GourmetGroceries.ca was born - after 11 months of research, development, and sampling

GourmetGroceries.ca started off as a venture to connect consumers with where their products are made, but it has soon developed into something far more incredible:

- All products are all-natural (no chemical sweeteners, no artificial dyes, no msg, no corn syrup, etc.) - catering to the Vancouver health-conscious market
- Shop by Province
- Free delivery over $100

**What You'll Do**
- Set up, take down, and organize 10'x10' outdoor market booths
- Collect payment via credit card square readers
- Sample out products to customers to encourage them to buy
- Engage with passerbyers and bring them to your table even if they're just walking past

- **Free Lunch**:You will always have a free lunch from an on-site food truck put onto our tab, up to a certain amount. You will not go hungry selling food
- **Free Food**: It's important, especially at markets, for you to know the products You'll receive free full-sized samples of all products for you to try that is sold at markets/events.
- **Discounted Food**: Love a product? _**Your discount is 50%.**_ (It's important to GourmetGroceries.ca that you aren't given a measly 10-15% discount... you deserve more, you're worth more.) You can use your discount for friends/family too, with an exclusive coupon code.
- **Opportunity for Growth**: actually, not just figuratively - Starting wage for your first event is $16.75 per hour. If you have proven yourself and your capabilities, the next event is $18.00/hour. If you continue to show reliability, your next event and all future events are $20.00/hour.
- **On-Site Training & Support**: you will be sampling and selling right across from my main booth. You will not be left alone and will always have support.
- **Networking**: have a business of your own? Connect and network for yourself too - and I am happy to sponsor a booth for your own business in November or December, the busiest and most prominent times for markets due to the holiday season.
- **Retention Bonus**:if you stay for all events needed by you (within reason, of course) you will receive an additional commission compensation of 10% of your total sales.

**Process**
- If you are not chosen, you will be informed. Your time and effort is valued. You won't be ghosted.
- There are 2 roles available.
- First event is August 26, but if you'd like to have on-site experience at minimum wage you can be my helper for an event on August 5th.

**FAQ**
- **What is the language requirement?**:English, but if you know other languages, please be sure to let us know. French, Spanish, Punjab, Mandarin/Cantonese and Japanese are an asset, but not required.
- **What is the pay?**:This is a mutual conversation - based on your skills and competencies, what do you think is a fair wage? Vancouver is the most expensive city in BC. You have bills to cover that are growing, but are only working a short time per week. It's important that you feel acknowledged and valued for the work you put in, and are not just stuck at some measley starting wage.
