**Reports to**: Maintenance Manager
**Position Summary**: The Public Spaces/Maintenance is primarily responsible for the cleanliness of all common areas and supporting the maintenance team with all service requests. Other duties will be supporting the front desk with room calls. Also assisting with small maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, plunging toilets, resetting A/C units etc. Setting up and removing furniture after events.
**Principal Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Overall cleanliness of common areas and public spaces.
- Cleaning external premises of the property, including but not limited to windows, sweeping, garbage, patio, balconies, and deck upkeep.
- Ensuring the spa area is kept clean and tidy including the floors, washroom, and general space. Washing, drying, and putting away any linens and towels left by guests or service providers.
- Ensuring the indoor and outdoor pool area is kept clean and tidy including the washrooms, pool mats and general areas. Ensure an hourly sweep of the pool areas for garbage, recycling, left towels etc.
- Sweeping, vacuuming, and washing floors and carpets in common areas
- Dusting all shelves, ledges, furniture in all the common areas.
- Cleaning all the common washrooms including the lobby, spa, and conference area.
- Daily cleaning of internal offices, administration building, employee lunch area and housekeeping quarters.
- Answering front desk / guest requests in a timely manner.
- Understanding of the internal TV System (Sonifi) and how to reset and troubleshoot as needed.
- Reporting maintenance and room problems to the appropriate supervisor and tracking in internal software system MOP.
- Reporting all lost and found articles to the appropriate supervisor and according to the lost and found process.
- Removing all garbage and recycling from common areas.
- Listening and responding thoughtfully to guest requests or complaints and following up with a supervisor if required
**Minimum Qualifications**:
1 year of housekeeping and light maintenance experience
**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**:
- Lead by example, demonstrating superior customer service at the core.
- Can work on own as well as part of a team.
- Performs work with accuracy, speed, and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly and with detail.
- Willing and able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to consistently maintain confidentiality of all guest information.
- Ability to follow directions thoroughly and work with mínimal supervision.
- Ability to lift (up to 50 lbs), bend, kneel and reach upwards
- Able to work at heights.
- Team oriented and self motivated.
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude at work.
- Maintenance experience with a guest/client facing component an asset.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
**Salary**: From $19.00 per hour
