**About the Role**
Reporting to the Manager, Business Intelligence, the Statistical Research Officer contributes to the overall departmental goals by presenting actionable information to help the business make informed decisions which maximize the ability of employees to advance the WCB's vision of a safe and secure Nova Scotia.

Work in this role includes a variety of data collection, evaluation, and reporting activities. As Statistical Research Officer, you will handle ad hoc requests for statistical information independently and play a key role in reporting of findings and conclusions related to organizational activities.

This position requires compiling statistical information for regularly scheduled internal and external reports and publications on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis along with assisting the Business Intelligence Team in design and execution of program evaluations.

Further, you are responsible for conducting a variety of policy analysis and working on various project initiatives including data quality audits, forecasting reports, and acceptance testing. The Statistical Research Officers also support the Business Intelligence team in measuring and reporting corporate performance, setting and verifying employer assessment rates, consulting on new data storage and reporting tools (software), and investigating the use of predictive analytics.

You will possess a university degree with concentration in Finance or Accounting, Information Technology, Computer Science, Applied Statistics or Mathematics, or a similar quantitative discipline. Additionally, you shall possess at least two years' experience with utilization of a large computerized and related analytical tools. You are proficient with office software such as, MS Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and various types of office equipment. Knowledge of computer programming languagues, including SQL and Cognos, are considered an asset.

We offer a competitive compensation package including a salary range of $65,379 to $81,669.
