- Conduct field trials and customer visitations including detailed customer packaging audits to ensure ongoing material and packaging equipment performance levels are maintained.
- Interact with customers to provide technical assistance/solutions around product performance.
- Communicate material, equipment, or processing opportunities to customers and/or Winpak personnel.
- Understand the customer processes and expectations for existing & new products.
- Articulate voice of the customer and make recommendations for internal process improvements.
- Coordinate with internal & external customers on technical assistance/solutions around product performance.
- Be the liaison between R&D and Technical Field Services:

- Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

- Oversee the usage of Winpak owned equipment in the packaging lab and provide the support to effectively run these machines.
- Work with the Sales team to conduct packaging trials in a timely manner.
- Create package prototype samples of new innovations to support new product launches and commercialization.
- Promote the development of a safe working environment and respect all customer protocols governing the handling of food or medical products.
- Perform duties and responsibilities in a manner compliant with ISO 9001 and SQF 2000 standards.
- Other duties as assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Education:

- Preferred background in Engineering, Food Science, Packaging, or Polymer Science. Minimum Grade 12 diploma or equivalent, supplemented with post secondary education or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Experience:
Work experience in a technical capacity associated with food or medical packaging or related fields such as maintenance.
- Possess a solid working knowledge of packaging equipment.
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of polymer attributes and packaging material manufacturing processes with an emphasis on extrusion, lamination and converting.
- Abilities:

- Excellent problem-solving capabilities including critical and innovative thinking
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and train others by ensuring an approachable and engaging attitude.
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision, within strict deadlines and promote a high standard of workmanship.
- Ability to effectively communicate respectfully both written and verbally with all people at all levels of the organization as well as those outside the Company.
- Possesses a high sense of urgency to act, respond to customer issues, and push initiatives to completion.
- Proficient organizational skills including time management, strategic planning and setting goals.
- Be able to travel within Canada and the US and hold a valid passport
