Summary
G & C Asphalt has an opening for the position of Scale/ Dispatch Person for the upcoming 2023 Construction Season.

This role is responsible for the efficient tracking of incoming and outgoing product loads being transporting to and from the terminal site in addition to the scheduling of assignments of loads to drivers' in the field.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the safe and efficient operation of the terminal scale, using computerized equipment and controls while performing weighing of truck loads.
- Perform daily walk around inspections of the scale site, noting and addressing issues depending on priority.
- Track incoming and outgoing trucks and product quantity.
- Collect paperwork from scale house and compare haul tickets to aggregate totalizer and oil computer.
- Confirm no product incompatibilities between loads in the tanks of the trucks.
- Track and ensure that truck drivers know their contract number and product to be delivered.
- Communicate with applicable departments regarding bills of lading and adjustments as needed.
- Coordinate truck loading and unloading schedules on a daily and weekly basis.
- Maintain communication with workers on the terminal site regarding order quantities, trucking volumes, technical and mechanic issues surrounding the scale operations.
- Review Terminal safety procedures with truck drivers and maintain and orientation records and acknowledgement forms.
- Schedule multiple trucks and drivers to efficient delivery routes, ensuring proper directs, pick up and drop off locations are communicated.
- Plan product orders for trucks that ensure efficient loading and deliveries.
- Record orders and trip events in an accurate and timely manner.
- Maintain up to date tracking of last contained of equipment.
- Perform a variety of administrative tasks such as filing, monitoring driver progress, purchase order processing and addressing driver concerns.
- Ensure that drivers have adequate time to perform duties safely and within hours of work regulations.
- Must ensure a solid understanding of and comply with the principles of the company's Code of Ethics.
- Must examine situations in light of the principles of the Code of Ethics.
- Other related duties as required

Qualifications I Requirements
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred
- Class 5 Drivers License preferred
- Minimum 3 years experience dispatching within the construction industry

Working Conditions
- Schedule of 6 working days, 1 day off with up to 16 hours per day (weather dependent). Overtime is paid in accordance with applicable employment standards legislation.
- Work is performed in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
- Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 LBS on a regular basis.
- Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required.
- Use of sunscreen, long sleeves, and appropriate headgear is recommended.
- Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements.
